Knit Happens

Knitted Knockers are special handmade breast prostheses for women who have undergone mastectomies or other procedures to the breast. Traditional breast prosthetics are usually expensive, heavy, sweaty, and uncomfortable. They typically require special bras or camisoles with pockets and can’t be worn until weeks after surgery. Knitted Knockers, on the other hand, are soft, comfortable, beautiful and when placed in a regular bra they take the shape and feel of a real breast.

They are made by volunteers and over 8,000 are given out free worldwide each month. Recently, a middle school youth group volunteered with Knitted Knockers to create more products to be distributed. They also created a fundraising campaign to help Knitted Knockers cover their $50,000 of postage fees for the year. The Knit Happens t-shirt was so popular that over $700 was raised!
