Building a Soccer Field for Kids in Kenya

Building a Soccer Field for Kids in Kenya

Vanessa Cote created two Bonfire campaigns to raise money for kids in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya. The organization she is partnering with, Missions of Hope International (MOHI), will be launching a sports ministry for the kids in their area and at their Joska school. The money will help them build soccer fields, provide proper sports equipment, and train mentors and coaches.

MOHI’s hope is to teach and equip kids with knowledge of sports but also functions as a local mission. The mentors and coaches of this organization will work to make sure every child knows that they are loved, valuable, and using sports to do it. While Vanessa is in Kenya, she will also be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro.

The funds Vanessa raised leading up to her trip will help MOHI create a one-of-a-kind, multipurpose synthetic turf sports field to be built at the Joska school campus, outside of Nairobi. Currently, the kids only have dirt to play on.

Vanessa and the supporters of her campaign believe that every kid should have a safe place to learn and play, and her Bonfire campaign helped them make this vision a reality.
